Headquartered in Hamburg, Germany, Emvia Living operates 47 nursing homes in north eastern Germany. Emvia Living has 5,541 beds in 12 federal states of Germany and more than 3,000 FTEs.

Emvia Living was founded in 2017. The core business of stationary care is complemented by a few local ambulantory care service businesses. The nursing homes demonstrate very high quality standards according to regular reports from MDK the German state health insurance.

The German private stationary care market is estimated at around €30bn with stable growth rates above 3% due to an ageing population and ongoing privatization of public providers. Despite ongoing consolidation the top ten players account for only about 10% of the market. In this highly fragmented market Emvia Living is one of the largest nursing homes providers in Germany.

Chequers secured the deal thanks to its long-standing expertise in the German healthcare sector and its past deal experience with Silver Care which appealed to the management team of Emvia Living. 100% of the shares were acquired together with the management team.
