Biolchim

Based in Bologna, Biolchim is a producer and distributor of specialty fertilizers, notably biostimulants, primarily sold to agriculture professionals. Chequers and the management acquired the company in a secondary LBO in September 2017.

Biolchim’s biostimulants, mostly made from raw materials of natural origin, stimulate biological processes of plants. They are used (i) to enhance nutrient uptakes, therefore reducing the volume of fertilizers needed and (ii) protect them from abiotic stresses such as draught, flood, heat, salt… Under the lead of the current management team, the company began a process of international expansion, both organically and through acquisitions, leveraging its strong know-how, brands and sales team. Today the group is active in more than 50 countries and operates production facilities in Italy, Brazil and Hungary.
